Purchasing

The Antares paper price book can also act as a full stock control package. If you use the Stock Control in this way, then Antares will allow you to record minimum stock levels, re-order levels, re-order quantities and so-on against each stock line.

When new jobs are entered into Antares, the stock system is automatically updated with the paper requirements for that job, which might cause the stock system to create an order for the necessary material if insufficient is currently in stock.

When stock is used on a job, not only are the job costs updated with the value of the material used, but also the Stock System is updated to reflect the fact that material has physically been taken from stock and used on a job. Therefore, stock levels are kept accurate.

Each day, the stock control system will produce an ordering schedule which will be a list of stock materials that are below their minimum stock levels and therefore need reordering, plus also a list of any materials specified on new jobs that are not stock materials and need to be ordered specially.

Therefore, this combined ordering schedule will ensure that all materials are ordered and are available for production when needed.
